penguins!

Soooo cute!

I finally saw March of the Penguins tonight--it was absolutely adorable, and so sad in parts...I thought a lot about that article on the Christian group that called the movie an argument for monogamy, belief in God, and above all, intelligent design...

Ok. Maybe you can make the argument, if you're a religious person, that the reason humans seem to be so poorly designed is that we're meant to struggle and be tested, in order to become righteous and moral people. But why would PENGUINS be as ridiculously designed as they are? I mean, they get by in their environment, but if they were just a little better designed, fewer of them would die...If anything, that movie was an argument for 'bad' design--a design by an intelligence that's either stupid or cruel. (Or, you know, an argument for evolution, which by definition is imperfect.)

And now, amusing things! inspired by the Mo.
